HR(Bad Brains) w/special guests Xuluprophet at The Wormhole!Paul “HR” Hudson is best known as the front man of the iconic punk band Bad Brains, formed in 1979.. With unprecedented speed and precision, Bad Brains took the Washington, DC music scene by storm and quickly became the most influential band in American punk history, breaking down cultural barriers and creating emotionally charged music centered on the message of maintaining a positive mental attitude (PMA). This concept of PMA continues to inspire HR’s fans. Currently, HR performs with Philadelphia musicians Ezekiel Zagar (original McRad) and Josh Freshy as HR & Human Rights. The band has a refined yet organic energy that hasn’t been felt since the early days of Human Rights.
Bad Brains’ frontman H.R. (Human Rights) is a legend in rock. His contributions to breaking down stereotypes and racial barriers in the late 70s and 80s were truly groundbreaking on so many levels. His emotionally charged and now iconic musical legacy with Bad Brains will go down in rock n’ roll history as truly being ahead of its time.
Today H.R. is back with a brand new solo record that continues to challenge listeners while chasing his musical muse into new directions. Produced by Ted Bowne of Passafire, H.R. has returned with an all-roots reggae sound and injects it with chaotic energy that only he can bring. H.R. has released the album’s first single “Easy” featuring Passafire, as he unleashes some “PMA” vibrations mixed with a hypnotic atmosphere that propels listeners to dance, watch here:
Opening for this legend is a great honor for Xuluprophet, we urge you to take advantage to this opportunity to catch one of the most influential bands from the Eastern seaboard.
Xulu says, " I first came across this music when I was about 19-20, and it had a profound effect on my worldview. I dare say influencing the tone of Xuluprophet."
